What To Do Before/After a Henna Appointment

Easy tips and tricks to make the most out of your henna experience, have a long-lasting stain and honour your henna artist’s work.

Before an appointment :

  • Take a shower or bath and exfoliate the area where the henna will be applied. This will ensure you get a deeper and more long-lasting stain

After an appointment :

Before removing the paste :
  • Keep it on as long as possible
  • Apply a sugar lemon concoction on top of the dried paste*
  • Keep your movements limited
  • Keep warm
After removing the paste :
  • DO NOT WASH OFF THE PASTE WITH WATER, scrape it off instead.
  • Avoid water on the area of your henna stain
  • Keep warm

*How to make your own sugar lemon sealant:

Mix 10 ml (2 tsp) in 15 ml (1 tbsp) of warm lemon juice. Gently dab a cotton ball or a cotton pad on your dried henna paste.
